Dana Owens
Copy Strategist
“A clear message let’s your customers know that you deeply understand their needs and desires, and has a better chance of resonating and inspiring them to take action.”
Dana Owens has been writing for the past two decades in many different forms. She got her start as a reporter at a daily newspaper, where she developed a love for interviewing and listening deeply to other people’s stories.
After relocating to Chicago, she spent several years as a writer and editor at an advertising agency, discovering the magnetism of a great message and its ability to connect customers to a brand.
Insert plot twist–Dana went into teaching, apparently seeking more stress. 🙂 While it did deliver in that department, it was also a great chance to learn how to clearly and effectively communicate and “sell” each lesson, so that even a complicated topic could be easily understood, as well as implemented. Nothing has ever impacted Dana’s writing more than her alternate path.
Over the last several years, she’s proudly taken back her writer title, crafting clear and engaging web and email copy for brands both emerging and prominent, including Apple, Christie’s, Quest Diagnostics, and United Way, helping them find and refine their message, connect deeply with their audience, and position themselves to grow their businesses and their impact in the world, too.
Dana lives in the Chicago area with her family, and enjoys running, biking, playing tennis, and spending time at the beach, but only when she’s not cheering on the best baseball team of all time, the Chicago Cubs.
