Dana Owens has been writing for the past two decades in many different forms. She got her start as a reporter at a daily newspaper, where she developed a love for interviewing and listening deeply to other people’s stories.
After relocating to Chicago, she spent several years as a writer and editor at an advertising agency, discovering the magnetism of a great message and its ability to connect customers to a brand.
Dana then had a major plot twist and went into teaching, apparently yearning for more stress. While it did deliver in that department, it was also a great chance to learn how to clearly and effectively communicate and “sell” each lesson, so that even a complicated topic could not only be easily understood but implemented, too. Nothing has ever benefited her writing more.
Over the last several years, she’s proudly taken back her writer title, crafting clear and engaging web and email copy for both established and emerging brands, helping them find and refine their message, connect deeply with their audience, and position themselves not only grow their businesses but their impact in the world, too.
Dana lives in the Chicago area with her family, and enjoys running, biking, playing tennis, and spending time at the beach, but only when she’s not cheering on the best baseball team of all time, the Chicago Cubs.
